Assembly

Time for assembly. This is the point where you will want to finish sand or scrape any surfaces smooth and ready for finish.

For glue I recommend Hide glue or another glue of choice with a long open time such as FishStick Glue from Lost Art Press. This allows you plenty of time so you are not rushing. Titebond extend is also a reasonable option. I assemble lots with just yellow glue mostly when I’m busy and don’t want to heat up the glue pot but if something goes wrong you’re screwed. Truth be told doing the photos for this post I used the Titebond III on the bench and had it go wrong. If you like living loose and remaking parts that’s cool but otherwise wait and get a long open time glue.
